Randy D. Gibson, a citizen of the United States and the Cherokee Nation, and a native of Oklahoma, has more than 30 years of public relations and media management experience. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism – Public Relations in 1988 from the University of Oklahoma and his Master of Arts degree in Journalism – Media Management in 1991 from OU. He is the CEO of RDG Communications Group, LLC, which consists of several divisions including public relations, advertising, promotional items, video production, publishing and association management.
During his extensive public relations career, Gibson has traveled across the U.S. working for the Ground Water Protection Council and the Association of Energy Service Companies as Director of Communications and the Texas State Rifle Association/NRA as Executive Director. During this time, he formed partnerships with companies and universities, and planned several extensive media campaigns.
In 2002, Gibson returned to his hometown of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, as the Executive Director of the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Council and in 2005 became the Communications Manager at the Cherokee Nation. In 2011, he was honored to become the Program Liaison for Cherokee Nation Public Health, where he has worked with the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Health and Human Services, state health departments around the U.S., the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, Nike, and other organizations in the formation of partnerships.
He is married to Terry Ann (Evans) Gibson and has two daughters, Wendy Gibson-Jordan and Aurora Gibson, and one grandson, Luka Jordan. An active Christian, he is a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and Terry Ann make their home in both Oklahoma and Utah.
