America and the Constitution
We the People. It is what I love about America. Our government, I believe, was truly inspired by God. I strongly believe that this land, known today as the United States of America, is truly a choice land that was preserved by God Himself, and has been shared with us to fulfill His plan. That is the doctrine of my church. Our rights, as outlined in our Bill of Rights, are truly God-given rights to each and every one of us that live here. I will fight to the end to uphold our rights as a people – all people – who are here and possess this land as American citizens. My ancestors fought in the American Revolution, and one of my direct line ancestors served as a Brigadier General in the war and fought along side George Washington himself. Likewise today, I will fight for my rights, for your rights, and for our rights.
Those who know me know I am a strong advocate for the 2nd Amendment. I will fight with everything I have to protect it, because to me the 2nd protects all of the others. However, I support the Bill of Rights and the Constitution – all of it. As a journalist, I join my colleagues as we hold the 1st Amendment dear to our hearts and to our profession. More than just the 1st and 2nd – all of them are worth fighting for henceforth and forever.
There was a statement made many years ago which said the day will come when the Constitution will “hang by a thread.” I often feel like that day is at hand. I will always give my all and do all I can to protect it, and protect this great land. Why do I love it so much? Because, to me and the way I think, it is a choice land, given to us by God; and anything given to us by God is worth fighting for. RDG
